The Wealth is a positive sum game, measured by one’s net worth – a sum of all physical &intangible assets.
But many times, we forget to evaluate the one asset that we own - just because it is impossible to put a price on it.
Our body and our overall well-being.
Health is wealth. And we at conscience have been relentlessly working towards a stable growth for all our portfolios. We are what we eat. If we are to constantly consume so many toxins consistently, although in small doses, what would become of us? What are we accumulating wealth for if we do not have significant control over our health?
Covid was an eye opener. It was a catalyst to all the lifestyle changes we made - one major change being what we eat and how we consume. This thought and intent has stayed with us since then. There were constant discussions around improving quality in all our consumption aspects – be it the food we eat, the way they are grown/sourced and of course the manner of supply is important.
As we were about to complete 5 years, it was serendipity which showed us the path forward. A conversation that we had with a taxi driver turned out to be the eureka moment. The taxi driver’s experience of working at a supermarket and the way in which they chemically treated the fresh produce, just to keep the veggies in the shelf for an extra 3 days, was the key trigger for us to act on the accumulated thoughts. While researching about the options for healthy, alternative staples, we stumbled upon fresh organic farms that grow chemical free vegetables and fruits. A lifestyle change can begin when our fresh produce is truly fresh, clean and healthy.
And for this to happen, we needed to encourage farmers to continue traditional natural practices without the worry of outcome, without the worry of scale. If we could carry their burden of supply chain, finance etc they would be motivated to stick to chemical-free, natural farming practices with fair remuneration practices. On the other hand, buyers which includes all of us need more awareness about the food that we consume. This we hope to achieve by building a highly transparent process about the farms, farmers & their yield.
We wish to be true to our conscience and work towards bridging a gap in our lifestyle. Let our discussions on markets, be that of stock sand crops. The coming quarters promises a healthy gain, not just for our families and the people who have trusted us with their wealth, but also for our local communities and people we care about around us.
